Modern Day Matchmaking LLC ("MDM", "we", "us", "our") provides a human-curated matchmaking service based in the United States. Our services include a multi-part compatibility assessment, personalised profile review, and curated introductions between compatible members seeking long-term relationships.
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website at moderndaymatchmaking.com and all related services. By using our website or signing up for membership, you agree to these Terms in full.
To use MDM's services, you must:
MDM is not a casual dating service. By signing up, you confirm that you are single, serious about finding a long-term partner, and willing to engage with the process in good faith.
We reserve the right to decline membership to anyone who does not meet these requirements or who we believe would not contribute positively to our community.
You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your profile information. You agree to:
Providing false information, including about your relationship status, is grounds for immediate termination of your membership without refund.
Our assessment tools, including Attachment Style, Connection Type, and Defense Style assessments, are original works developed by Modern Day Matchmaking LLC. They are provided for the purpose of facilitating compatible introductions.
The free assessment is available to anyone. Results are for personal insight and matching purposes only and should not be treated as clinical psychological diagnoses or professional therapeutic advice. The assessment is not a clinical instrument and does not constitute therapy or medical advice of any kind.
By completing the assessment, you grant MDM the right to use your results, in confidential and anonymised form, to improve our matching methodology.
MDM offers the following services. Full details of what is included are available on our Pricing page.
All fees are charged in US dollars as one-time payments. There are no monthly subscriptions or recurring charges. All payments are processed securely through our payment provider, and no further charges are made without your explicit consent.
A background check via Checkr is required and conducted as part of In-Network Dating before an introduction is made. Background checks are intended to support member safety and trust and do not constitute a guarantee of the character, conduct, or background of any member.
A completed Love Card Reading is a prerequisite for both Out-of-Network Matching and In-Network Dating. This ensures our coaching and any introductions are tailored to you.
In-Network Dating includes your first introduction; additional introductions are available at $199 each. MDM does not guarantee any specific number of introductions or any particular outcome. All introductions are subject to the availability of compatible matches within MDM's member base and are made at MDM's discretion.
If your membership is terminated due to a violation of these Terms (including providing false information or misconduct), no refund will be issued, subject to the notice and cure provisions in Section 14.
NOTICE OF RIGHT TO CANCEL
You, the buyer, may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of this contract. To cancel this contract, mail, deliver, or email a signed and dated notice stating that you wish to cancel, or words of similar effect, to:

If you cancel, any payment made by you under this contract will be refunded within ten (10) business days after receipt of your cancellation notice.
This notice is provided pursuant to C.R.S. § 6-1-903 (Colorado Dating Service Contract Act).
You may cancel within three (3) business days of purchase for a full refund, regardless of whether any services have commenced. To cancel, follow the instructions in the Notice of Right to Cancel above. This statutory right applies in addition to, and is not limited by, the service-specific terms below.
The Love Card Reading is fully refundable any time before your reading takes place. Once the reading has occurred, it is non-refundable.
Out-of-Network Matching ($725) and In-Network Dating ($825) are fully refundable as long as MDM has not yet held your up-to-3-hour consultation. Once MDM has met with you for that consultation, these services are non-refundable, as the core of the service has been delivered.
$99 dating profile sessions and $199 additional introductions are refundable up until that specific session has been held or that introduction has been made, after which they are non-refundable.
If your membership is terminated due to a violation of these Terms (including providing false information or misconduct), no refund will be issued, subject to the notice and cure provisions in Section 14.
MDM provides curated introductions based on our assessment methodology and team judgment. By becoming a paid member, you understand and agree to the following:
By using MDM's services, you agree to treat all other members with respect, dignity, and honesty. You must not:
Violation of these conduct standards may result in membership suspension or termination, subject to the notice and cure provisions below, and where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
If at any point you feel unsafe or uncomfortable as a result of an introduction, please contact us immediately at hello@moderndaymatchmaking.com. We take all safety concerns seriously and will act promptly.
Members are expected to engage with the matchmaking process in good faith. Good-faith engagement means, at a minimum: (a) responding to introduction notifications within seven (7) calendar days of receipt; (b) attending scheduled introduction meetings or providing at least 48 hours' advance notice of cancellation; (c) providing truthful and accurate profile information; and (d) treating all members and MDM staff with courtesy and respect. A pattern of non-responsiveness or repeated failure to meet these engagement standards, documented through MDM's records, may result in membership suspension or termination, subject to the notice and cure provisions below.
Prior to terminating a member's account for a curable violation of these Terms, MDM shall provide written notice to the member via email identifying the specific violation and providing a cure period of not less than fourteen (14) days to remedy the violation. If the member fails to cure the violation within the cure period, MDM may terminate the membership and issue a pro-rata refund for services not yet rendered. This notice-and-cure requirement does not apply to terminations based on material, incurable breaches, including fraud, criminal conduct, threats to member safety, or falsification of identity or background information.
All paid members are required to complete a background check prior to receiving introductions. By enrolling as a paid member, you:
MDM reserves the right to deny or terminate membership based on background check results, at our sole discretion and without being required to disclose specific reasons.
While MDM is committed to providing a thoughtful, high-quality matchmaking service, we make no guarantees regarding outcomes. Specifically:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Modern Day Matchmaking LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to damages resulting from introductions made through our platform.
MDM's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid to MDM for the membership term during which the claim arose.
Nothing in this section shall be construed to limit MDM's liability for (a) willful misconduct, fraud, or gross negligence; (b) personal injury caused by MDM's negligence; or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
MDM is not responsible for the actions, behaviour, or conduct of any member after an introduction has been made. You assume responsibility for your own safety and wellbeing when meeting someone through our service. We strongly encourage meeting in public places for initial meetings.
All content on the MDM website, including our assessment questions, methodology, type names, written descriptions, design, and branding, is the intellectual property of Modern Day Matchmaking LLC and is protected by copyright law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any MDM content without our prior written permission. This includes our assessment framework, compatibility methodology, and the 16 Connection Type names and descriptions.
You may terminate your membership at any time by contacting us at hello@moderndaymatchmaking.com. MDM may terminate or suspend your membership if we believe you have violated these Terms, provided false information, or behaved in a way that is harmful to other members or the integrity of our service, subject to the notice and cure provisions in Section 9.
Upon termination, your access to our services will cease. Data retention following termination is governed by our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Before initiating any formal dispute resolution proceeding, you agree to contact MDM at hello@moderndaymatchmaking.com and attempt to resolve any dispute informally for a period of at least thirty (30) days.
If informal resolution is unsuccessful, any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this agreement or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof shall be determined by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The arbitration shall take place in Boulder County, Colorado, or, at your election, by telephone or videoconference.
MDM shall pay all AAA filing fees and arbitrator compensation for claims of $10,000 or less. For claims exceeding $10,000, filing fees and costs shall be allocated in accordance with the AAA Consumer Arbitration Rules. Each party shall bear its own attorneys' fees unless the arbitrator determines that a claim or defense was frivolous, in which case the arbitrator may award reasonable attorneys' fees to the prevailing party.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you and MDM agree that any arbitration shall be conducted on an individual basis and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. If a court or arbitrator determines that this class action waiver is unenforceable as to a particular claim, then that claim shall be severed and may proceed in court, while all remaining claims shall proceed in arbitration.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to MDM at the address below within thirty (30) days of your first purchase. Your notice must include your name, mailing address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of the arbitration provision. If you opt out, all other provisions of these Terms remain in effect, and any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Boulder County, Colorado.
Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement or misappropriation of intellectual property rights.
We may update these Terms from time to time. For non-material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date and post the revised Terms on our website.
For material changes — including changes to refund rights, introduction guarantees, arbitration provisions, or the scope of services — we will provide you with at least thirty (30) days' advance written notice by email. Material changes will not apply to memberships already purchased and in effect at the time of the change unless you provide affirmative written consent. If you do not consent to a material change, your existing membership will continue to be governed by the Terms in effect at the time of your purchase. Material changes will apply to new purchases, renewals, and upgrades made after the effective date of the revised Terms.
MDM is committed to compliance with the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act (CADA), Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and all other applicable federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws. MDM does not discriminate in membership acceptance, matching, or the provision of services on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
Membership acceptance decisions are based on objective criteria, including completion of the assessment, background check results, geographic eligibility, and alignment with available membership capacity.
MDM shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations under these Terms to the extent such delay or failure results from causes beyond MDM's reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, epidemics, government orders, acts of terrorism, labor disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or an insufficient member base to facilitate introductions. In the event of a force majeure event lasting more than sixty (60) days, either party may terminate the agreement upon written notice, and you shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund for services not yet rendered.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such invalidity shall not affect the remaining provisions, which shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent of the parties.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, any applicable Matchmaking Agreement executed between you and MDM, and any order or purchase confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between you and MDM with respect to the subject matter hereof and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications, representations, or agreements, whether oral or written. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and a separately executed Matchmaking Agreement, the Matchmaking Agreement shall control with respect to the specific services covered therein.
